Late Hangout in Bandar

Image
The photo shoot out didn't end at the park.  I forced Redz to come out again that same night to bandar to get the hang of it.  He did take many beautiful pictures, to view them, he put them in his  blog .  Feel free to visit... So I took some with him, at about midnight I did a walk about alone to the newly built jetty beautified by a sculpture and a small square.  It didn't turn out well.  It is still so postcard-ish as one avid reader had commented.  By which he/she is totally spot on right.  But anyway, more comments appreciated and hope to get more comments from readers. My attempt to portrait No!  It's mine!  Oreo Cheese Cake is always a favourite. No smoking starting first of June.  Sad, I am. My solo night walk about around Bandar starts here. These floating/glowing/multi colour balls is just mesmerising The details on the railings are exquisite.  It nicely lit too! The sculpture changes colour too! It's such a beautiful night, the former Royal Custom and Excise

Friday Shooting with Newest Member Redz and Corey

Image
Hope you enjoy this pictures... A dedicated Mentor to an eager Potential Prodigy A Palm Leaf Tried to shoot the pots, it has beautiful sculptural drawings. Had to lie down to shoot this and its worthed. Care to give me a hand? Tired?  Have a seat? A pot as a dustbin.  Urgh!  Just Great! "Air Mulih" Under the Arch I'm Shattered! The Yellow Brick Road to Oz, hardly... These are the pics that I took with Redz and Corey on Friday...  There are more beautiful pictures I took by the jetty, but I guess for now, this will do.  Again, comments appreciated.  I still can't get over the quality loss in photoshopping!  Urgh!  Until then.  Adios.

Early Weekend

Image
I had lots of plans planned out for today.  None of them fell through. I planned to bring my models out i.e my brother-in-law, my dad and my nieces and nephew for an afternoon out.  I also planned for a Friday prayer on my way back to my parent's house.  It didn't happened because I got stuck in a heavy traffic jam near Liang divergence to a two carriage way near Lumut.  I got teary eyed looking at the wreckage.  I pray to Allah that nothing serious happened to anyone.  The wreckage was heart crushing to see.  My eyes water just looking at it.  It just happened, the ambulance was making it's way and the police were quick to react to keep the traffic moving.  It was not raining when it happened as depicted in the picture.  It was bright sunny sizzling hot when it happened, the rain only came and went in about 5 minutes or so.   Ya Allah, I pray to you to keep those involved and everyone, safe from harm. I don't care if you commute or not.  My advice is please don't d

A Helping Hand

I've decided to use this blog to good use for a while. I received this email yesterday from our Admin. L & G, One of our colleague Drahman who is now in JPMC for a by-pass surgery tomorrow and urgently required blood group 'A' positive. Anyone who wish/can may go directly to JPMC Ward 2, inform the duty nurse there or contact his wife on 8119592. We wish him to recover soon .... So I hope there's some one out there to give a helping hand... Be Right Back... Until then, Adios

Fake Weekend

Today it is a fake weekend for me.   But not for my friends who are mostly working as government servants by which the weekend starts now.  Fake weekend for me because today is only Thursday and tomorrow is Friday, and I've got to go to work tomorrow.  And boy am I knackered or what! Netball was fun as usual, although I didn't play much, my aching muscles are refusing to do more.  So I didn't play hard today.  The journey home bound was excruciating.  There was a forest fire blazing at Sungai Paku, Telisai...  And the traffic was unbearable.  I just wanted to go home.  I couldn't drive fast because my new car, Razzy haven't reached the break-in period just yet.  So it was a slow drive.  My body stinks like an indian on a hot sweaty day (Is this comment racist?  Oh well!  Its true right?) .  I needed a shower ASAP.  When I reached home, and showered, as soon as I settled down, my friend texted me up that he'll be picking me up in 15 minutes.  And now here I am a

Not bad, not bad at all

A quick blog shout. An increase in my readership. I was checking out my blog stats, 43 readers per day was the highest. Thank you for visiting, please come again. (I sound like a Japanese supermarket!... Arigato ! Arigato !) The highest peak for All hits was my hits, that was the day I changed my layout, trying to fit in funkiemunkie ... So anyway, thanks for making my blog the way it is, I truly appreciate those visiting, reading and commenting in my blog. I know it's useless ranting, but that's just me. A place where you want to waste a few minutes of your life. Or a window to my life. Or things you don't really want to know, but you're reading anyway. Be it anything you could think of, thank you from the bottom of my heart... Am trying to increase my readership, not for fame or anything, but I suppose, to challenge my thoughts, my attitude, my behaviour etc, etc. I love a good challenge, a healthy challenge, that is (of course if you challenge my personality, I wil

Workshop Day

I texted my absence to my boss on Tuesday because of my migraine. He mention that my migraine is getting in the way of the job. And I need to get it checked out. So, today, instead of going straight to the office, I went to Panaga Health Centre to get myself checked out. The doctor gave me some migraleave . He told me to pop in these pink tablets before the headache start to develop, otherwise it is useless and just take ibuprofen instead. He also mention that it might or might not work, it's a hit or miss thing with most people, he also gave me something for my cough. After that, I went to BSRC where a workshop is being held, I am supposed to attend it. It was a good workshop, I didn't contribute much but I tried to help as much as I can, besides, seriously I'm not feeling that all well yesterday. I had lunch with a long time friend, who I went to college with, Adnan . But before that, I made an appointment with a lady who is interested in buying my motorbike. She seems

Migraine and Surprise

Sorry for the lack of updates.  I wrote a few sentences yesterday, but I wasn't feeling up to blog last night.  So let me just summarise what had happened on Tuesday.  I woke up on Tuesday to a humongous migraine.  I woke to sit up and like someone had push a nail the size of a fist on my left eye.  I had to lie down immediately.  I struggle to get my ibuprofen and went back to bed.   I slept throughout the morning until 1 pm.  At that time, the migraine subsides, but it was still there.  While I was lying there on my bed, nursing my migraine, my mobile phone rang.  And I answer them without even looking at the caller ID.  A lady called, it was Hjh, the car agent where I bought my car.  At first she apologised to me, about the car.  So I thought, my car was taken away by someone else and had to wait for the next shipment.  On the contrary, my car was already registered despite my instruction to register it next month.  That was why she apologised.   The dealer was expecting more sh

Fake Sunday

I woke up at 10.30 am thinking that I woke up early for a Sunday. Then I remembered preparing stuff for work the night before. And "Sh!t, it's Monday!!" I scramble to the shower and when I finished, I looked at my mobile, there were a few messages in it. But that wasn't what I was interested in. I realised the clock on my mobile is actually 11.50 am... I thought, " oh no, I set the clock an hour late!" During my rushing morning ritual dance, I thought, "forget it!" I'm late as it is. So I took my time to get ready. I arrived at the office just when lunch time was about to end. I dwell straight to business. Few emails going around, did my updates and what-not. And voila' I'm free to write my blog... Besides, it is after 4 pm already. Time to wind down for the day. I planned to run before my biweekly netball practise. I have to join the practise, because I have been nominated to join the Trimets Netball Tournament nex

Sunday at the Beach

Image
Since we had a great shooting at Tutong's Seri Kenangan Beach last week.  We decided to do a sequel with the usual crew, my mentor Corey and our model of the month, Redz.   So I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves, it's mediocre, I know, I'm still learning and I'm still couldn't get over with photoshopping issues.  I lose some quality when I reduce the image size.  It has been a great weekend.  And I sense a great weekday ahead. On our way to Seri Kenangan Beach The Tumpi (Malay Pan cake) was good, we nearly forgot the sun was setting, I love the silhouette created by the setting sun. A post card picture of a father and son, taking pictures of the sunset. Casuarina Tree Redz contemplating to go deeper into the sea... Breaking the waves Mastering the Panning technique Of course, we couldn't forget our Next Bruneian Top Model!  Picture perfect! So Until then my dear readers...  hope you like my pictures.  Comments appreciated.  These pictures are n

Lazy Paparazzi (Late night Photography Session with UberDream)

Image
On Friday night or Saturday early morning, I suggested my photography mentor, Corey to have a night time photography shooting session.   But the weather turned bad, so I went to meet him up without bringing my camera.  And while we were having dinner with another friend, the weather system subsides, and then the plan was back on again.  We decided to have a shoot out in Bandar.  We were sitting at Coffee Bean in Bandar.  Sitting and our chair and not even bothering to stand up to shoot.  We were shooting pictures like paparazzi on steroid but we let people and things come to us.  Hence the title of this post.  There are more picture on Corey's blog, UberDream .  Night View of Bandar Seri Begawan Here is a collection pictures that I took by using panning technique.  I've tried a few times using panning technique at the beach but couldn't get it right until that night.  Proud of myself, I am. Panning Ala Galore!  My Mentor on a shoot out So photographers alike, I would appre

Adios! White Funky Ride

Image
This will be a two episode blog post.  Firstly, a bid farewell to my brother-in-law's car, White Funky car, a Daihatsu Sirion , that have served me well.  Carrying me economically back and forth from Belait District to Bandar Seri Begawan every weekdays and the occasional weekends and even sending me off to offshore.  I truly truly will miss that car.  I had many many memories with that car, and has brought me at least 15,000 km without fail  (few tantrums) .  I have become so attached with that car, that I miss it now.   That car has brought me many joys throughout my tough 3 months.  It's speedy, it's agile and it's responsiveness is beyond my expectations.  It has it's charm.  It is quite surprising.  I truly miss my White Funky Ride. But not everything is lost.  I have taken my car out of the workshop and after inspection on Friday morning and I wasn't happy with the workmanship.  A few people have already warn me that this is about to happen.  It used to

Commuter's Advice

After my morning drive today, I thought I wanted to add a few things in addition to my tips from my previous blog for commuters or commuters wannabe, I want to introduce to you to the few danger places of the commuters' road. This will help you in knowing your commuting road. The Please Don't Overtake Zone These are few places you should never ever (even attempt to) overtake (unless you're absolutely and definitely sure, even so, be very sure, even if you're already sure, guess you get the point!): Convergence into single carriage lane after Telisai Ground Satellite until the bridge at Telisai Rentis (pipeline fabrication yard) after the Telisai Filling Station. These area have seen many deaths.  I think each year at least one or two or more fatalities in that area, so please don't, it's a logically wise thing to not do... Tunggulian bridge area.  Pure blind spot, now you don't see, oh sh!t, now you do! Approaching Brunei Methanol Plant site. Congestio

Survived the Day

Plenty of emails going round and round. And finally, its COB . Netball is next. But contemplating now, it's freaking hot outside. Biting hot! Got my brother-in-law's car back from the workshop, all spick and span, all glittery... The ride sounds smoother, the interior is buffed clean. I love the smell of polish... And *KACHINGGGG!* $310 out of the window... Well, nothing is for free, right? I suppose for a peace of mind, by maintaining the car, it will provide security for my hourly daily journey. Speaking of cars and journey, I have been meaning to write something about commuting, tips that might come in handy if you are about to join the commuters community. Waking up early is essential. And if you're like me, who always wakes up relatively early or really late, one thing that one should bear always in mind. Don't rush! No matter what. It's useless to rush, want to know why? You're already late. And no, we couldn't catch time. That is the first rule: Don&

Work Sucks

I've just recovered from my fever. Instead of going to the office directly, I went to run a few 'unavoidable' errands. That is, to finally resolve my car issue. Why now? Because I have to give back my brother-in-law's funky white car pretty soon. Firstly, I need to get the car I crashed back from the workshop, $720 flew in a snap. I told them I will pick it up tomorrow. Morning, for inspection (in case there's something that I was not satisfied with their workmanship) and I will pick it up after Friday prayers, I told them. Then to return my brother-in-law's car that I have been going around with means I have to send it to the workshop, for a complete servicing which includes: changing the wipers, balancing the tyres, re-align the tyres, motor oil replacement, transmission fluid flushing, radiator cooling fluid flushing to wash and polish (and what-not). Everything... everything I could think of to change and replace. So now is lunch time and I'm not goi

Hair Today, Gone Today?

Today, I had a bad fever episode in the morning, my throat felt groggy and I knew I am about to get a flu.  Since I had my cough syrup, flu pills and aspirin with me from my last visit to the doctor, so I took them and went back to bed.  I don't want to fall sick again. Being bed bound, throughout the day, I can't help but thinking and reflecting on my life.  I hate my life.  Not to the point of, I want to kill myself.  But I'm unhappy, especially reading a blog where someone's has been tagged.  She talks about what she didn't want to lose, which is her family, and if she won a million dollars, she wanted to build a mansion for her family.  That sound so sweet.  Then I start to reflect about what I have.  I have Baby , friends and lots of stuff.  Does that make me happy?  Well, yes to a certain extent, but truly happy?  I don't know...  Don't get me wrong, Baby makes me happy.  But I'm not happy being me.  I'm not happy about my life.  I hate it.  I

Reminiscing the Weekend

Image
Found a picture or two, no, three to publish...  Continuation of photography session with Uberdream a.k.a. Kori... My photography Mentor largely immobile... Going to the sun and beyond Kellaz's foot!

I am unwell

I'm not feeling good.  I suppose my tiredness yesterday was an indication that I am going to be sick.  I told my housemate last night my throat feels a little groggy.  And this morning, I had a fever.  I took my reliable aspirin and went back to bed... This afternoon, my car agent called up asking for the down payment of the car, and I was feeling hungry as well, so I took up the energy to shower and went down there for the car...  My car is already here but is still in Muara.  They couldn't pick the whole batch in Muara just yet as the cars at the agent are still waiting for registration.  And it's taking a bit longer than the usual...  I told the agent to hand the car in early June, because the road tax issue will be in May, and we're ending may in just a week plus...  She also agreed, "Rugi tu eh" (translation: That's a loss")...  So yeah, June's looking good! Okay, till then, Adios

Just another day

Nothing significant today. I am blogging at exactly at 4 pm. Because I was updating my spreadsheet as per usual. And I'm bored. Definitely winding down now... I am staying back a little late to wait for my boss, he called up this afternoon because he wanted to say something about work, mostly following up with my work, thus why I have been updating since morning. I had lunch with Jane again. It seems that I will be mentioning Jane more often now. Mainly because a) I miss her company and b) I'm going through this house thing a lot in the future and I would really need her help. Continue... The paragraphs before were written late this afternoon, my boss came after all, he just came back from a meeting at HQ and called me up for a short meeting.  Yup, it was about work, there has been a considerable effort from the other unit that highlight that many many many... emphasis on many here, deferred work that needs to be completed.  And since I am the clean up mess engineer.

The usual

The usual dance. I am taking things slowly. Since yesterday was a long day. I woke up tired today. So I zombie my day without much incident. Thus nothing much to report. Oh after work, our department continued our HLP (Healthy Lifestyle Programme ) with a Beach Volleyball Tournament. Actually this was a continuation of last week's game to determined the group ranking. Last week our group lost terribly, I had a meeting with my fianance planner, that was why I didn't play, and after that, I played netball instead. My group got the bottom rank to determined the 7th or the 8th place. I was suppose to play netball, and I brought all my gear with me, but forgot my shoes. Silly me! Since playing beach volleyball would be barefooted, so I played that instead. When I arrived, my colleagues were screaming my name to immediately join the on going game. Most of the guys in my group have not arrived yet and they are short of players. I ran to the bench to store my stuff and b

First Photography Session with Uber Dream

Image
Today, after going through a rigid, science revision by Uber Dream  throughout the whole morning (over delicious Murtabak and Teh Tarik ), we finally got into the practical bit of the science of light i.e. photography in the afternoon... It was a session overdue, and today we finally managed to have a field trip to Pantai Seri Kenangan (Seri Kenangan Beach) in Tutong to give my new Canon 450D a test.  This is my first SLR camera, my first trip and even, the first time I took the camera out of the house.  So please bear in mind that I'm still quite the novice in taking pictures.  I took hundreds of pictures which in the end, these are the top six pictures that I considered okay to publish... Also, our special thanks to Redz for being the model of the day...  He didn't demand any payment and if he did, it would be gracefully ignored...  I'd appreciate any comments for fellow photographers although, please be gentle with me...  I've got a long way to learn to be at l
