Day Three - Kuala Terengganu Trip Part 1
Note: More explanation of this pictures can be found in my previous post, Click here.
This is part one of the batch of pictures of the Kuala Terengganu trip on our third day. There are a lot of pictures to be uploaded onto this blog. This is just to give you a feel of what my trip was like. However, not all of the pictures made it to this blog, because they are 'shaky'. I couldn't see the blurriness from the camera until I uploaded them into my laptop. It is a pity because many of the pictures are actually nice pictures.
This is the picture of Kertih. An equivalent of Seria Town. This facility is like Seria Town multiplied by ten. It is freaking huge. Next to the refineries and crude terminal there are also factories that are based on oil and gas downstream. It is not just a terminal for oil and gas, it is also the industrial area. Kertih is a town, we passed by to get to the main city for Terengganu i.e. Kuala Terengganu. I took quite an amount of pictures, but they were a little blurry because I just couldn't be bothered to get out of the moving car.
Before we reach to the main city, Kuala Terengganu, we stopped by at Noor Arfa Batik Centre. There are some displays and showcase of how the batiks are made. I particularly love the picture I took of the ladies drawing up free hand. Free hand drawn batiks are exclusive and no patterns are the same.
This lady is drawing the outline using wax. This saperate the colour and makes dying the fabric easier, as shown below....
After the wax pattern were drawn, it was stretched out on to be coloured, no two patterns are the same, each of their own individual pattern. This, we were told are batiks drawn exclusively for their client to be made as shirts.
The almost finished product, it will remain stretched to dry and later washed in hot water to melt out the wax outline in which the colour is yellowish... When the wax is removed, the colour of the fabric (in this case white) will show.
I took this shot for a reason, we didn't make it to Tasik Kenyir as we planned to do, because we would have to make a detour into the heart of Terengganu. We will plan this next trip, insyaallah (god willing).
The annual monsoon cup. This is an international event, organised typically in December. It is held at one of the famous and scenic island called Pulau Duyong.
We found a china town in Terengganu, I took some interesting pictures to show diversity in culture in Kuala Terengganu...
The picture of this lamp post is interesting as it combines malay cultural design with the chinese design...
Aiedee decided to be creative by taking this tilted picture of me. This is where we had our lunch after shopping for batik.
If you love fish... This dish is absolutely delicious...
Bad for our cholesterol level... I know... Nevertheless, yummy!
Restaurant Terapung Puteri (Floating Restaurant Puteri)... That's where we had lunch... burp!
