Relieve

Had plenty of meetings on offered in the morning.  Something has got to give.

I arrived office early today and I'm glad that I did, actually this punctuality has always been my problem, and in the next few weeks I will be training myself to wake up early, thus being ultimately punctual at work.  More of that to be discussed later.  So anyway, there were three meetings lined up this morning, and I attended one at HQ because there were no representatives from our department whilst one meeting was full of our representatives.  It was also my chance to pass Corey's medical certificate to his secretary, I have been keeping it for almost a week and I felt bad not passing it to her.  I didn't have the opportunity to stop by HQ and this would be my only chance.  Besides, Jane msn-ed me via the work network and persuade me to have lunch.  So since my meeting finishes at 11.30 am, so I might as well wait for half hour for lunch.

The meeting went well, it was about the logistics of three parties, trying to achieve one major goal for the project.  The project manager is worried that the budget will burst.  So we managed to do that well.  For my side, I just provide manpower for them.  It was good, all good.  One of the project team leader commented the way I dress to work, he said "wow, now we've got a trendy engineer in the team, nice".  He wasn't being sarcastic, I think.  I'm the kind of person who goes to work either in a short sleeve shirt or a polo shirt and jeans.  This is because my work clothes, don't fit me no more!  Argh! I've gained 10 kgs in the past a year and a half.  So I will do something about that.  I've started running recently, and the first run was absolutely tiring and my second run last Saturday, was really good.  I didn't struggle as much, but the timing was still the same 6+ kms for 40 minutes, I think, there was an improvement of a few seconds.  I am now training for a half marathon for this August.  Thanks to Anak Panyu's blog informing of the Brunei Darussalam 21 kms Half Marathon.  And I am determined to join Borneo Marathon on the 12th of October.  I will be joining the half marathon catagory.  I'm not confident if I can do the full 42 kms marathon.  I need to be crazy to do that.  And on top of that, Anak Panyu's ability to finish the 84 kms Ultra Marathon is absolutely mind numbing to think about.  He is one crazy guy.  But congratulations to him.  R-E-S-P-E-C-T man!

Also, my phone vibrate because some messages came in during the meeting, so I took it out discreetly and replied them, the project team leader also commented my phone.  "Gawd, I love your phone man!".  I just replied with a pathetic grin, feeling a little guilty about taking it out.  It did cross my mind, and reflected a bit, "Am I cool?"...  "Nah!!"  I doubt it.  But since I'm not seen in the HQ much, I did turned a few heads.  Some disgusted looks though.  But I don't care.  I also met my secretary from my previous department.  She is like a sister to me, although recently, I haven't seen her much.  We only chatted in our msn via the work network every now and again to ask how we're doing.

Then it was at C.A.Mohammad Restaurant in Seria for lunch with Jane.  Do you know that this is the first CAM branch?  Oh yes, it is.  I missed the Ayam Masak Merah (Chili Sauce Chicken).  Each CAM restaurant is never the same.  I've tried many Ayam Masak Merah, and no two are the same.  We walked around Seria with Jane.  I miss having our lunch together.  We usually eat for about 20 minutes, and for one full hour, just walking around in Seria.  I mean, there's nothing much to see in Seria.   In fact, you can take a full tour of Seria in just 30 minutes max.  But Jane and I know how to amuse ourselves.  We usually bully the sales person in the shops which we're familiar with and sort of hang out there, asking for discounts and never buying a thing.  It's fun!

Dropped Jane back to HQ and made my way to my office.  Did some more updates, I'm stuck now, I'm trying to make a formula for my excel spreadsheet.  Updating is one thing, but doing a summary is another story...  So I'm hoping for an automatic update, why bother updating when excel spreadsheet can do it for you right?  Instant information when you want it.  Then it was time to meet my boss with my supervisor.  I suppose some of my office mates are reading this, so I'm going to keep it vague.  Basically, they're worried about me missing from office and wanted me to explain.  I told them the truth, which is, I did not go missing, I tend to come in late because I had to lay down to succumb my migraines.  And yes, I admit I do come to office quite late at times, but I didn't do that because of my tardiness or my laziness.  It's my f#*king migraines.  But to some people in the office, that is not an explanation, its irrelevant to them.    Seriously, I don't wish that people get it.  But I hope that one would get one, and know how it feels.  But that's besides the point.  My migraines are getting in the way of my job.  That much I agree.  So that is why I will be getting more help for my migraines.  I seriously wish I don't have them.  I also told them that there is a link between my migraines and my body weight.  I am a little heavier now, and I don't have the luxury of time to run in the morning or in the evening.  So something has got to give.  I am thinking to run every morning to climatise myself for the marathon, but that means I would be a little late for work.  So I'm not sure where that's going.

But it was a good meeting.  My boss understands and actually is really worried about my health.  He said that my health comes first before the job.  So hopefully, I will be seeing a specialist soon.  My personal family problems also came up.  But I told them, that topic I don't want to discuss, but I will have to sort out somehow.

The day ends pretty good I think.  And tonight, a few friends and my housemates went to watch Kung Fu Panda.  Okay, please listen to me, and I am begging you to watch it.  10 out of 10!  Please, please watch it!  Please!  You will not regret it.  And tonight, for the first time in many nights, I am out at DeFountain Cafe with my usual partner in crime, Corey!  He's well enough to walk, but had to use a crutch to walk but to us, it's good news.  He's terribly missed.  Okay, I'm going to end it there.  We will be going off soon anyway.  So you take care and Adios.  Oh, sorry for the long post.
